A Shrine to Penguin

The population of Kongwak (also known as the Valley of Peace) in South Gippsland, Victoria is just 193. Not enough to sustain even a general store. But what it does boast is a gorgeous Sunday market full of bric a brac, vintage clothes and furniture, organic food and a gypsy fortune teller. With a gold coin donation you can browse for bargains, soak up the decidedly alternative atmosphere and listen to some sweet tunes from local musicians.

Next to the market is a shop that echoes it in style. Rainbow coloured clothing adorns the racks and used books and records stand in bins out the front. But my breath stuck when I spotted a wall to wall bookshelf simply crammed with old Penguin classics. I covet it. But alas I have to make do with just a picture. Beautiful isn't it?
